Objective: Helping women become the woman who God created them to be 

Scripture: Eve where art thou? Speaks of position of the woman. Not of location. God already knew where she was. Eve had forgotten who she was created to be. Genesis chapters 2 and 3. 

Theme: Perfect Faith, Imperfect People

DEACON MINISTRY

The Progressive Community Church Deacon's Ministry under the able leadership of Pastor Curtis Whittaker, Sr. are serving in excellence of the Spirit, and striving to meet the growing needs of the church and ministries.

Mission Statement

Our Goal is to be the most responsible, effective and respected Ministry at Progressive Community Church. And to take ownership in supporting our church's Vision: “Teaching the powerful good news of Jesus Christ in a real and practical way to equip believers to exhibit love, patience, forgiveness, and hospitality to ALL of God's Creation." (Matthew 9:35-38)

FELLAS MEN'S MINISTRY

Objective: Equip the men of Progressive Community Church in their roles as men of God, whether married, single, older, younger. We seek to provide a venue for modeling the life of Christ to men. We seek to do this through teaching, fellowship, and service; providing an opportunity for fostering spiritual friendships and developing relationships, so that men can grow in conformity to Christ, specifically in their roles as men.

Meeting Dates: Monthly, every first Monday's from 6pm-7pm. Join us!

HOLY & HEALTHY

In accordance with the scriptures, we believe that our bodies are temples of God.  To that end, this exercise program is designed to provide low or high impact 60 minutes aerobics session.  Chair exercise is also available.  

Food demonstrations are also a part of this ministry. 

You will build a stronger mind, body, and spirit.  You will have the best workout every time you show up for class.  Holy and Healthy meets every Tuesday from 6pm-7pm in the Fellowship hall.  Members and non members are welcome.

Classes are free!

FINANCIAL INVESTMENT MINISTRY

The Financial and Investment Ministry is proud to have its very own Pastor Curtis leading this ministry with his professional skills as a certified public accountant (CPA).

Objective: This ministry invites expert financial advisers who lead workshops and also offer private, one-on-one individual sessions. Members are advised on creating financial budgets and managing finances biblically. Get financially fit by joining this rare opportunity!

USHER'S MINISTRY

Mission Statement

The mission of the Usher Ministry is to accommodate every congregant who enters the church with a seat in the most pleasant and efficient manner possible.

We provide a comfortable, God-fearing and loving orderly atmosphere for the congregants to come and worship.

To ensure that the members receive all necessary needs to enjoy a pleasant worship experience.

To ensure that each member is safe and the sanctuary is setup for worship.

To strive to make Progressive Community Church a place where people want to join because of the care received from the Ushers.

Vision

The Vision of the Usher Ministry is to serve every person that enters Progressive Community Church with a one to one experience and exchange of love that radiates people from just sitting in the pew to becoming disciples of Jesus Christ through the service provided by the Usher’s Ministry.

YOUTH MINISTRY

The Youth Ministry meet every third Sunday at 11:15 am in the Fellowship Hall where the pastoral staff teaches a Biblical-based curriculum that is relevant and engaging.  Ages 8-14 years old are welcome!

Under this ministry, many youth actively participate in Praise Dance, Media, Choir, and Praise and Worship. Scheduled outings are an important part of encouraging our children.

The goals of the Youth Ministry are:

• To form adult leaders in youth ministries and provide them with resources.

• To offer and further programs that lead youth to an understanding of God and their role as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world

• To advocate for youth and their adult leaders to the parishes and the communities in which they exist

PRAISE & WORSHIP MINISTRY

“SING TO HIM A NEW SONG; PLAY SKILLFULLY WITH A SHOUT OF JOY.” PSALM 33:3 (NKJV)

The Praise and Worship Ministry consists of musicians and singers who are gifted in music and, who most importantly, have a desire to bless God and the body of Christ with their gifts. If a person is interested in being part of this ministry, they would need to set up a time to speak with Pastor Curtis. 

The Praise and Worship team is part of the Sunday morning services. The team or certain members of the team are also active in other events and outreaches throughout the year. The team practice together before Sunday morning service at 10:30 a.m. Song lists are emailed out to the entire team generally one or two days before rehearsal.Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7pm in the Sanctuary.

PRAISE DANCE MINISTRY

The Praise Dance Ministry is comprised of children, youth, teens, and adults who demonstrate the power of worshiping God through the beauty of movement and dance.  Progressive Community Church Praise Dance Ministry is vital to the regular Sunday morning service and special worship service experience. It provides service throughout the Northwest Indiana area as the ministers of dance embody the mandate "to let everything that have breathe praise the Lord."

The goal of the Ministry is to help each member grow spiritually and provide basic dance techniques that will prepare them for further study.If you are interested in being a Praise Dance member, please see Sis. Earnesha Edmonds.

EVANGELISM MINISTRY

Luke 4:18 states, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."

The Evangelism Ministry is to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ by sharing the love of the Christian gospel through street evangelism and weekly worship at a local senior citizen housing facility. 

We minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through the Word.

The Evangelism Ministry meets every Monday at 6pm.

COMMUNITY CHOIR

The Bible says in Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."

The Community Choir Ministry mission is to glorify God through music which draws people into a new and deeper relationship with Him.  We use our musical gifts to tell about God's abundant love.  We are a group of people who desire to praise God by lifting our voices in songs. The Community Choir is made up of singers of all abilities. All are welcome!

We meet bi-monthly for rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7pm-8pm.

NURSERY MINISTRIES

The goal of our Nursery Ministry is to provide a secure and happy environment where our youngest members can begin learning about God's love. Trained teachers are on staff where a Biblical-based curriculum is taught. Children explore Bible heros, learn memory verses, and sing songs.  Every fourth Sunday during the main service, the class presents their subject matter learned for the month.  Our quality pager system is used to communicate with the parents if they are needed.  Parents are an important part of our growth. The staff encourages all parents to please sign in their children.  Ages infants, toddlers, up to 8 years old are welcome! Come experience the fun.

MEDIA MINISTRY

The Media Ministry is here to gather designs and graphics, to produce quality sound, and to engineer the computer board. This ministry meets every Wednesday night at 7pm where we rehearse with the Praise and Worship Ministry to operate the sound board.  Our engineers are also present early every Sunday mornings at 10am to check equipment and organize the music sets.  

We kindly ask that all musical or video requests to be submitted to our team by Wednesdays.  Your participation is greatly appreciated.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

The Transportation Ministry is responsible for providing safe, reliable and timely arrival and departures.  We pride ourselves in being responsible for transporting anyone who would like a ride.  The ministry is available for church services. Reservations can be made by calling the church at (219) 880-0850 by Friday before 5pm or email pccgaryin@gmail.com.
